The Dead Spot...

A while back I realized that my phone was not working properly.  When I would touch certain parts of its screen to activate an app, there would be no response.  I found that curious, but never once thought that there could be a problem with the phone itself.  I actually thought that it had something to do with my fingers (oh, don't even try, it would take forever to get to the bottom of that one ๐Ÿ˜‰).

Then one day, I dropped the phone and the problem worsened.  That is when I finally decided to take it to the store to get it looked at - after all it was about time I cashed in on my monthly insurance payments, right?

Well, after checking out the phone for a few minutes the service technician informed me that I had a 'dead spot' on my screen.  A dead who ??? ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Truthfully, I still don't know exactly what that meant, except it was the reason why the applications would not respond when I tried to open them, etc.  I asked her if it had anything to do with the fact that I had dropped the phone (now what was I thinking telling her about dropping the phone?).  Thankfully, she said, 'no'.  Phew.

When I got back from the store, I kept thinking about the fact that I would never have thought to take the phone in had I not dropped it and thought the problem could be connected to that fall, and maybe a few others before it (don't judge ๐Ÿ˜Š).  In other words, I would just have settled for trying out all my fingers to see which one the screen would respond to, not realizing that I was dealing with a problem beyond my control, a problem that needed an expert's touch, a solvable problem nonetheless.

It was while I musing over this that GOD opened my eyes to an even bigger truth - sometimes when we experience a fall, a failure, a setback in our lives, it may be that it happened in order to reveal a 'dead spot' in our lives - a part of our lives that needed healing, repairs, an EXPERT's touch; a 'dead spot' we would totally have missed

It brought to mind Psalm 119:71 (NIV, biblegateway.com),

It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees

So the next time we experience a 'fall', it might help to ask GOD what 'dead spot' HE may be trying to reveal to us, and then allow the GREAT REPAIRMAN Himself to put us back in order.

Therefore, do not worry about 'breaking when you fall', my Friend, GOD's got You ๐Ÿ˜‡.

Be Blessed ๐Ÿ™.
